The aim of this on-demand webinar series is to equip learners with the fundamentals of the UK Tax system. This 3 part series presented by Emma Gilbert-Smithwill provides an overview of all the major taxes applicable to individuals and business in the UK.

Understanding tax structure and systems have never been easy and it gets even more challenging when there are multiple taxes, as in the case of UK taxation. However, with a sound understanding of fundamentals, this can become much easier.

    This webinar is offered as a series of 3 session, where Emma will focus on different elements of UK taxes.

    Session 1 focuses on UK Tax structure, fundamentals of income tax, Introduction to NIC and Corporation tax.

    Session 2 focuses on computation of business income, capital allowances, computation of taxable profits and capital Gains.

    Session 3 focuses on PAYE, employee taxes, tax obligations of employer, Value Added Tax (VAT), exemptions and tax administration.

    Emma qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 2007 and has worked in the Public Sector, Practice and as a VAT Officer for HMRC. Emma joined SWAT UK in 2014 and spends her time working on student courses and tax and accountancy webinars.
