Forensic Accounting and the Legal System - eLearning


This activity is delivered by Macquarie University.

This CPD module aims to provide members who work in the forensic accounting space with related information which enhances their knowledge.  The assessment of this knowledge will validate their understanding of the content.
This is a great opportunity for Chartered Accountants to consolidate their knowledge relating to the characteristics, concepts and procedures of the legal system when working on forensic engagement.


Upon completion of this module you should be able to:
Outline the structure and key characteristics of the legal systems.
Differentiate between litigation and common methods of alternative dispute resolution methods.
Identify the key steps and concepts involved in civil, criminal and administrative procedure.
Identify the aspects of the law of evidence relevant to forensic accounting engagements.
Outline the legal, ethical and professional obligations relevant to Chartered Accountants performing forensic accounting engagements.
