Gaurav Chitnis joined HLB Mann Judd Perth in July 2023 as a Partner within the firm’s Tax Consulting division, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of taxation. With over 17 years of experience as a tax adviser in the SME sector, Gaurav has established himself as a trusted and highly sought-after professional in his field.
Before joining HLB Mann Judd, Gaurav was a Tax Principal at a well-known taxation consultancy practice in Perth. As a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser, and lawyer admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia, Gaurav possesses a unique blend of qualifications that enable him to provide comprehensive and valuable advice to his clients.
Throughout his career, Gaurav has developed a specialisation in several key areas, including capital gains tax, Division 7A, business restructures, taxation of trusts, and tax residency. His client base primarily consists of accountants, lawyers, financial advisors and high net wealth individuals who rely on his expertise to navigate complex tax matters and ensure compliance with regulations. Gaurav is known for his ability to assist with private binding rulings, objections, and effectively manage ATO reviews and audits on behalf of his clients.
In addition to his client work, Gaurav actively contributes to the tax community through various avenues. He is a regular presenter at tax forums, where he shares his knowledge and insights with fellow professionals. Gaurav's expertise has also led him to serve as a guest lecturer at Curtin Law School, where he imparts his wisdom to aspiring tax professionals. Gaurav holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University, with a major in accounting and finance, as well as a Juris Doctor from The University of Western Australia. Gaurav also serves as a director of the Norwegian Australian Chamber of Commerce, where he actively engages with the business community.
