Managing Behaviour in the Workplace: Topic 1 - 5 Drivers of behaviour that SCARE your brain

This activity is presented by Neurocapability.

Building upon the key organising principle of the brain shared in the Foundation Module, this activity explores the five key domains that generate threat and reward responses in the workplace.  This activity aims to provide insight into why we behave the way we do and why this shapes our reactions and responses. Topics can be purchased individually or as a 7-part series, Managing Behaviour in the Workplace: http://store.charteredaccountantsanz.com/Managing-Behaviour-in-the-Workplace-Series

Content Description

This activity introduces you to the five domains that generate threat and reward responses in the workplace. You will gain an understanding of how these domains act as the key drivers of our behaviour and shape how we react and respond to stimuli in our environment. This knowledge will provide you with a solid understanding of your own responses and how to manage them, and also provides a framework for gaining insight and understanding into others’ responses to situations.

Learning Outcome

Upon satisfactory completion of this activity you will be able to:
• Explain why Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is wrong.
• Describe why we care about significance, certainty, autonomy, relatedness and equity (SCARE).
• Successfully apply the SCARE model in your workplace.

Key Benefits

Improve productivity, engagement and motivation through actively building and supporting reward states in self and others.

*NB: Purchase of this topic includes access to the complimentary Foundation module 'Who's driving your behaviour? You or your brain?' This module focuses on how to improve interaction and performance in the workplace through an understanding of how the brain drives behaviour and influences responses to its environment.
