Privacy & Data Protection - Responding to a Data Breach



This webinar will provide an overview of upcoming changes as per the Privacy Act which will come into force on 1 December 2020, particularly the introduction of mandatory data breach reporting. It will also cover some important practical guidance for improving cyber-resilience.

New Zealand is about to implement some of the most significant changes to its privacy law since the introduction of the Privacy Act. One of the most important changes is the introduction of an obligation to report data breaches to the Privacy Commissioner and affected individuals.

This comes at a time where public scrutiny of and regulatory enforcement of data protection issues is at an all-time high. Privacy and cybersecurity are some of the biggest risks facing businesses around the world.

(Note: The new Privacy Act, will come into force on 1st December 2020, The Privacy Act 2020 (the  Act) repeals and replaces the Privacy Act 1993.)
