WA YCA Learning Bites 2021

WA Learning Bites is a 3-part event series, geared towards provisional members all the way through to members with 10 years post-CA designation.

Attendees will learn how to leverage their strengths and develop key soft skills to achieve their career aspirations. Each session has been designed as a stand-alone event.

We also provide a series discount for members who would like to register for all 3 sessions to build on the key messages throughout the series which gives added benefit and impact.

All sessions will be offering 1 CPD hour and light refreshments will be provided. The timing of these sessions will be held in the evenings between 5.00pm and 7.00pm, featuring a 50 minute presentation followed by Q&A, then an opportunity for attendees to network.
Session 3: Networking for Long-Term Career Development into Executive Management and the Boardroom

As your career develops, you understand more the importance of networking and networks to career advancement into executive management and attaining board directorships. Whilst networking takes some people out of their comfort zone, by adapting your mindset to view the experience as a learning and development opportunity and understanding how it can be a two-way exercise, this presentation will offer attendees many great tips and a wealth of experience to leverage your networks as you advance in your career.

Join our presenter Suzanne Ardagh, governance professional, director and leader of the Board Advisory Service for Executive Search firm Lester Blades, as she shares her own knowledge and education from her 20+ year professional career in governance and directorship.

Suzanne is a professional director and leads the Board Advisory Service for Executive Search Firm, Lester Blades. Her career has spanned diplomacy, corporate affairs, tertiary education and professional associations. She has lived and worked in Europe, Latin America and the ASEAN region. Suzanne was the inaugural Director of Marketing and Communications at RMIT’s Campus in Vietnam where she lived for five years.  During her time as AICD’s WA Division Manager she also established the Institute’s International Division with Councils in Singapore and Hong Kong. 

As a Director, Suzanne has served on both international and national Boards.  In addition to board roles with West Coast Fever Board and the WA Cancer Council, she is the independent Chair of Stanley College, a private VET provider and a WA Committee member of the Australian British Chamber of Commerce.
