- Materiality in sustainability
$195.00
Description
Finance professionals routinely make materiality judgements. The challenge in sustainability reporting is applying that judgement in a context where established guidance, audit practice, and settled precedent has not yet been developed. This micro course helps participants build the confidence and capability to support materiality decisions in sustainability reporting.
This micro course begins with a short recalibration of what transfers directly from financial reporting and what requires more independent judgement. It then focuses on process and practice, equipping learners with a structured process for conducting materiality assessments across a range of sustainability topics beyond climate, including nature, social and governance considerations. Through practical examples and contested scenarios, participants will develop the skills to apply judgement consistently, justify decisions clearly, and navigate complexity with greater confidence.
After completing this module, learners will be able to:
- Apply professional materiality judgement in a sustainability reporting context.
- Distinguish between financial, impact and double materiality, and identify which applies to their organisation and why.
- Conduct a materiality assessment using criteria appropriate to the sustainability domain being assessed.
- Document a materiality assessment in a form that supports regulatory review and assurance.
