Description
This self-paced digital course will take around 2 hours to complete and includes a short assessment. The course covers:
- An introduction to CA ANZ
- Professional standards expected of members
- Ethical standards expected of members
- CA ANZ’s approach to monitoring and upholding standards.
This course provides Affiliates and NMPs with an overview of the value of being a member of CA ANZ, including the trusted reputation that our members have collectively worked to build over many years. New members need to understand the foundations of this reputation, as well as the professional and ethical standards that guide members’ actions. In this course, you will also learn about the ways CA ANZ upholds these standards by supporting members to comply and holding them accountable.
After completing this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the value of being a member of CA ANZ
- Explain the value and obligations associated with Affiliate membership or NMP status
- Describe the commitments that members make when they join CA ANZ, including the responsibility to uphold the CA ANZ By-Laws, regulations and guidance, codes and standards and the requirements specific to those working in New Zealand
- Describe the core principles of the Code of Ethics
- Describe the CPD requirements that are part of your membership commitment
- Describe the ways CA ANZ supports members and upholds standards
- Understand the operation of the Professional Standards Scheme (AU members only)
- Reflect on how you will personally uphold the standards of the profession.

Who needs to complete the AAP?
Anyone currently applying for Affiliate membership or Non-Member Principal status must complete the course prior to applying for membership.
Current members who obtained Affiliate membership or Non-Member Principal status after 1 July 2019 must also complete the course before 30 June 2025. to retain their Affiliate Member or Non-Member Principal status.
