Sharing Knowledge: Tax Ombudsman Report on Online Services for Agents

CA ANZ members have consistently raised concerns about declining ATO service standards and the practical impact this has on tax practices and their clients.

CA ANZ has been working with the ATO and the Tax Ombudsman to help ensure member concerns are heard and acted on. Members have already made valuable contributions to previous Tax Ombudsman reviews, helping to identify systemic issues and opportunities to improve ATO letters, the registered agent phone line and general interest charge remission.

In this Sharing Knowledge session, members will hear directly about the outcomes of the Tax Ombudsman’s review of Online Services for Agents, receive an update on the Director Penalty Notice review, and learn about the ATO’s progress in implementing recommendations from previous reviews.

The session will also give members an opportunity to provide feedback on the Tax Ombudsman’s 2027 priorities and share their views on the issues that should be examined next.
