Whilst a unit trust offers several tax benefits and is appealing for several reasons, a unit trust structure isn’t necessarily ideal for every situation.

This session will explore the use of unit trusts in common business and investment structures.
On successful completion of this topic, participants should be able to explain the ideal situations to use the following types of unit trusts:
  • Family only - investment
  • Family only - business
  • Siblings - in business
  • Unrelated participants in business
  • Unrelated participants - investments
  • SMSF investments in unit trusts
