Special Tax & Superannuation topics 2022-23 - FBT Refresher 2023



The FBT year ends 31 March 2023. This session covers the main FBT categories for an SBE. The purpose of this session is to provide accountants with the skills to identify and calculate FBT transactions in these main categories. Each stated objective will have at least one, short case study to illustrate the main issues for each FBT category being discussed.

On successful completion of this course, candidates will be able to;
  • State how the FBT exemption for electric vehicles operates
  • State the rules for identifying and valuing expense payment fringe benefits
  • State the rules for identifying and valuing property fringe benefits
  • State the rules for identifying and valuing residual fringe benefits
  • State the rules valuing entertainment.

Peter McGinty, Senior Tax and Superannuation Trainer, CA ANZ 

Peter has degrees in commerce and law from the University of Melbourne. He has more than 30 years’ experience in a chartered practice that focused on tax issues affecting family businesses, small and medium enterprises and high net worth individuals. Peter is an experienced tax trainer and is well regarded for his practical approach to staff training.
