Sustainability assurance – micro course

This micro course is aimed at financial professionals with limited experience in sustainability assurance principles and concepts. It focuses on applying the applicable standards for completing a sustainability assurance engagement.

Reporting on environmental, social and government (ESG) matters is becoming increasingly common. Regulators and external reporting standard setters in Australia (e.g. the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) Corporate Governance Council) and New Zealand (e.g. the External Reporting Board (XRB) New Zealand) encourage entities to obtain external assurance over their ESG or sustainability reports.

This micro course is designed to be your first step in providing assurance on your client's sustainability reports. It will help you to understand what sustainability assurance is, why it is important, and the steps needed to complete a sustainability assurance engagement.

  • Explain sustainability assurance and its value to clients, stakeholders and report users
